Mamelodi Sundowns host Coton Sport in their final game of the CAF Champions League group stages. Head coach Rulani Mokwena has warned against the threat of the opposition.
Masandawana have enjoyed a fruitful group stage campaign in the CAF Champions League thus far. Not only did they qualify for the quarterfinal stages with two games remaining, but they are also certain to top their group.
This will afford Mokwena the luxury of fielding some of his fringe players.
Also, while they will be in continental football, they will be crowned DSTV Premiership champions without even playing if SuperSport United fail to win against Chippa United.
“It’s been a good break for us [international break].” Mokwena told the club media.
“There’s been good energy since we’ve returned, and a lot of good work has been done. We now concentrate on preparing to play against a good side, Coton Sport.
“Their results don’t show that, but you can see the quality in the team and with regards to their attack.
“Coton Sport is a strong side and has a lot of players that have potential. We have to make sure that we are at our best on Saturday and we perform very well if we want to win the match.
“It’s important for us to finish on top in Group B.” he concluded.
