Brandon Truter Cautious of More Tournaments Next Season! Babina Noko will have more on their plates in the new campaign.

Sekhukhune United lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday night. This means that they have qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup next season.

By virtue of The Buccaneers securing a spot in the CAF Champions League next season, Babina Noko was guaranteed of a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup, irrespective of the result on Saturday night. They also secured a top 8 finish, meaning they will participate in the MTN 8 next season.

With the addition of the Carling Black Label Cup next season, Babina Noko will participate in four competitions next season. Namely, DSTV Premiership, MTN 8, Carling Black Label Cup, Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederations Cup.

“Having a winning mentality, I would like to challenge myself on all fronts. (But) of course, we must look at what Marumo went through this season,” Truter spoke.

“They played so well in CAF [Confederations Cup], but their domestic form suffered. We must be mindful of that.

“But we also must be mindful of the squad sizing as well – in terms of quality and quantity.

“With the club only in their second season in the PSL, we must choose our battles carefully. We have a status to protect in terms of what happened to Marumo.” He added.

Marumo Gallants reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup this season but were relegated from the DSTV Premiership.
