Kaizer Chiefs Legend Willard Katsande Lauds Siphesihle Ndlovu as Best Signing Among Six New Recruits

Kaizer Chiefs have been busy this transfer window, securing six new players ahead of the 2025/26 season. However, it’s midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu who has already been singled out as the standout signing — and the praise comes from none other than Chiefs legend and former captain Willard Katsande.

Ndlovu, who joined Amakhosi from the now-defunct SuperSport United, has quickly earned respect at Naturena. Katsande revealed in an interview with FARPost that he has long been a fan of the Zimbabwean midfielder, admiring both his energy and quality on the pitch.

“He’s my boy,” Katsande said. “You can see the way he poses. Trust me, I’ve been a fan of his for some time. He’s a very energetic boy. If we have to play, we can play; if we have to be stuck in tackles, we can stick in tackles. I’ve seen him in a couple of games.”

Katsande recalled a moment watching Ndlovu play at the FNB Stadium where he told the midfielder, “Boy, you deserve to be here. Not the other way around.” This kind of endorsement from a club great bodes well for Ndlovu’s confidence and role at Chiefs.

Adding to the praise, Katsande expressed hope that Ndlovu might inherit his jersey number 31, noting the Zimbabwean’s experience and leadership qualities. “He’s somebody who has won trophies and knows how to play for a big team. He’s going to be good and he’s going to rub it into the young ones because he does have a never-die spirit. He’s just an unbelievable boy.”

Ndlovu is one of six new players brought in by Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi. The other signings include Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, and Paseka Mako. The club is currently in the Netherlands for pre-season, with many of the newcomers already involved in matches against Vitesse, FC Utrecht, and NEC Nijmegen.

With such strong backing from a club legend, all eyes will be on Siphesihle Ndlovu as the new PSL season kicks off to see if he can live up to the hype and help restore Chiefs to their winning ways.
