Unattached Coaches With Strong African Experience

Several respected coaches with successful records across African football are currently without clubs. These coaches have led major teams, won trophies and shaped competitive squads. Here is an updated list in ascending order.
- Pitso Mosimane
Mosimane spent the last three years working on projects in the Middle East. His latest job was with Esteghlal in Iran. He joined in October 2024 and left at the end of January this year. He remains one of the most influential African coaches available. - Marcel Koller
Koller arrived in Africa when he joined Al Ahly in September 2022. He stayed for three seasons. He was replaced early this campaign. He has not taken up a new project. - Jose Riveiro
Riveiro stands out as one of the most successful coaches in the PSL for Orlando Pirates. He joined Al Ahly but stayed for less than three months. He is now on the market. - Nasreddine Nabi
Nabi guided Kaizer Chiefs to the Nedbank Cup last season, ending a long trophy drought. Internal issues affected his second campaign. He left the club in mid September and is still unattached. - Jose Peseiro

Eymael qualified Saint Eloi Lupopo for this season’s CAF Champions League. He joined Chippa United in August 2025 and left two months later. He is open for new roles.
