African Superstars In The English Premier League. Mohammed Salah and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang both scored for Liverpool and Arsenal respectively this weeked. Mo Salah scored an opening day hattrick to help Liverpool to a 4-3 win over Leeds United. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored the 3rd in Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Fulham.
Both Aubameyang and Salah are serial goal scorers for their respective clubs. In 2018/2019 they shared the golden boot, alongside fellow African Sadio Mane with 22 goals each. Last season Aubameyang finished with 22 goals again. 1 behind golden boot winner Jamie Vardy.
These men are influential for their clubs as they prove to be the biggest source of goals.
The Premier League has always been the biggest European stage for African football stars. The likes of Didier Drogba, Micheal Essien, Lucas Radebe, John Obi Mikel, the Toure brothers, etc, have all left an indelible mark on the division.

So, the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Jordan Ayew proving to be stalwarts in their teams is of no surprise.
This season, Aubameyang and Mo Salah are the early frontrunners for the golden boot once again. Aubameyang has scored in Arsenal’s last three games. Mikel Arteta claimed that he’s extremely confident that the Gabon international will sign a contract extension.
Aubameyang has one year left on his contract and is yet to extend his deal with the London club. If Arsenal is to leave any sort of impression on the division, they are going to require their captain Aubameyang.
Mikel Arteta will hope to close in on the top 4, if not enter at all. If this is to happen, Aubameyang will be the catalyst of any sort of climb up the table.
For Salah, the Egyptian will be looking to retain the Premier League with Liverpool. The Scousers will also look to challenge for the UEFA Champions League once again.
