All You Need Is Love:Patrick Tignyemb Reminisces Over Old Club Bloemfontein “Siwelele” Celtic

Former Bloemfontein Celtic goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb is a man filled with nostalgia over his former time with Siwelele who enjoy one of the most passionate fan base in South African football football.

The 34-year-old keeper might be in the twilight of his career though the adage goes that goalkeepers like wine get better with age.

Tignyemb who is now on the sidelines definitely misses the love that he used to enjoy from the highly passionate Celtic fans who seem to never forget one of their own.

He took to social media Instagram to express his heartfelt love and deepest appreciation of the love for Siwelele and of late he has been reflecting on his time at the Free State based club. He captioned his post:

” This team and me we have a special love story that no one I says no one can break “

We saw that earkier this month when Mark Mayambela despite turning out for a rival club Cape Town City managed to wow the fans at the end of the match.

Cameroon born Tignyemb ended his nearly 12-year stay at Phunya Sele Sele by joining Port Elizabeth based club Chippa United on a 3 year deal but has endured a disastrous spell in goal characterised by a number of very poor errors that contributed to the Chilli Boys poor run in the league.

Some of Tignyemb’s posts might border on frustration of his prolonged time on the sidelines as in one post he captioned under the following image:

“In this life some will love you others will hate you is normal, but the funny thing is that both parties will always have the truth of numbers in their face like it or not”

New Chippa United Zimbabwean coach Norman Mapeza has preferred understudy Veli Mothwa in between the sticks and it might be justified as Mothwa helped the club achieve history by going four games in a row without conceding a goal which was a first for the club since coming into the Premier Soccer League.

Tignyemb was fired by Bloemfontein Celtic for fighting for the players to get their bonuses at the then cash strapped side and by then he was the longest serving player in the Celtic squad.
