AmaZulu Gain Continental Football While Black Leopards Suffer Relegation! There were contrasting fortunes at the top and bottom of the DSTV Premiership last night.

Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu sealed a top 2 finish with victory over Swallows FC. Meanwhile, Black Leopards’ stay in the top division expunged after loss to Cape Town City.

AmaZulu defeated Swallows FC 1-0 in the DSTV Premiership last night. They are now guaranteed to finish in a top 2 position.

Usuthu will compete to play in the CAF Champions League group stages for the very first time in their history. A top two finish is their highest league finish ever.

Since Benni McCarthy took over, Usuthu surged up the table and settled into second. The club saw McCarthy win back-to-back Coach of the Month awards.

They also saw Tapelo Xoki and Veli Mothwa win back-to-back Player of the Month awards.

All three of McCarthy, Xoki and Mothwa are in contention to win individual awards at this year’s PSL Award ceremony.

At the bottom of the table Black Leopards suffered their inevitable relegation. Lidoda Duvha lost 3-1 away to Cape Town City in the DSTV Premiership.

This means that they are destined for the drop. Last season they finished 15^th and survived relegation through the promotional play-offs, ousting Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

The poorly run club has had three managers; Patrick Aussems, Dylan Kerr and Lehlohonolo Seema. Kosta Papic has also been in an advisory role.
