Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 to SuperSport United on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Arthur Zwane has pleaded with his players to remain optimistic.
By losing the game, Amakhosi also lost out on the opportunity to finish in a CAF Confederations Cup position. This means that they will finish in fourth, in Mangethe’s first season in charge.
“Look, we have to remain positive.” 10111 told SuperSport TV after the loss.
“We have to remain positive, as much as we are in this situation. We have to encourage them [the players].
“This is football, you go through a slump, I think our timing of going through this phase was wrong. We were supposed to finish on a high, finish very strong, but yeah, we let ourselves down and we gave away three points again today.” He concluded.
Amakhosi take on Cape Town City in their final match of the season next weekend. Anything other than a defeat will secure a top 4 finish for them. If they lose to The Cityzens they will surrender fourth spot and finish in fifth spot.
