Aubrey Modiba Hopeful of Finishing Off Season on a High! The Postman has enjoyed somewhat of resurgence in the closing stages of the campaign.
Aubrey Modiba joined Mamelodi Sundowns from SuperSport United at the beginning of the season. His influence has grown, as he hopes to end season on a positive.
Modiba was almost non-existent in the first half of the current season for The Brazilians. After joining, it took some time for him to make his way into the first team.
He started a DSTV Premiership match against Chippa United in March, and won the Man of the Match award for his performance. He has remained in the first team ever since.
His electric displays also saw him win the Man of the Match against former side SuperSport United as The Brazilians claimed the league title last week Wednesday.
““It was a collective effort because we really wanted to win the game and it was a derby as well, it was important for us to collect the maximum points.” He told the club media department.
“The season is not finished yet, we still need to finish our job which is to win all the remaining games, it’s gonna be tough but we are prepared, we can finish on a high and gain momentum going into the next season because we really want to compete again next season for the league, CAF and all the domestic trophies,” he adds.
Mamelodi Sundowns took on Swallows FC in the DSTV Premiership on Saturday evening. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Speaking before the match, Modiba expected a very tough game against The Dube Birds.
“They’ve been doing well as a team, it’s their first season from the GladAfrica Championship, it’s gonna be a tough game for us and we must put our salvation aside so that we can complete the season. The technical team will put on a good team that will fight on the day because we really want to win all the remaining games.”
