Bafana Bafana Keep Record Clean
Bafana added one more fixture to total their unbeaten-run to 17 matches. Bafana Bafana hosted Angola at the Buffalo Stadium last night, March 28, in an international friendly encounter that ended in a goalless draw. Bafana who came out with a rotation of players and introduced Phakamani Mahlambi and Luther Singh get their first caps in the national team.
Let us not be entertained by the record of 17 games unbeaten but the reality is that Bafana Bafana still have a long way to go especially in tidying up the back line. Even yesterday Bafana were strong in the middle of the park and in the attacking line up and Percy Tau and Lebohang Manyama were both great in penetrating the hard wall of Angola. It was a case of missed chances on the side of Bafana Bafana at the end of 90 minutes, but Owen Da Gama will have an excuse for not scoring against Angola.
The soon to be revealed new head coach of Bafana Bafana will have to come up with solutions if Bafana are to beat the best teams in the world in the near future. It is time that Bafana Bafana qualifies for the world cup and by the spirit of the youngsters, the focus is there to qualify but the is no plan or strategy on how to do that and that is what is lacking. This does not take credit from the two games in which Bafana Bafana played.
