Benni McCarthy Excited for AmaZulu in The New Season! The Usuthu head coach began intense pre-season work in July.

Benni McCarthy is excited about how far AmaZulu can go in the current PSL campaign. He led them to an impressive second placed finish in the DSTV Premiership last season.

Usuthu are currently in Mpumalanga continuing with their pre-season work. They have added two new players in their roster thus far.

Namely, Keagan Buchanan and Mxolisi Kunene. McCarthy is intent on fulfilling a wholesome pre-season, so that his players are in the best possible condition for the new season.

“The team is looking good.” McCarthy tells AmaZulufc.net.

“The fitness levels in the players is looking impressive after a 4 or 5 week-break that they had which is nice to see.

“The competitiveness is there, and the two new boys look like they have settled in well, Keagan Buchanan and Mxolisi Kunene. Both seem to do well.

“Kunene is easing himself in since he has just come from an injury which he picked from when he was at Maritzburg.

“The rest of the guys that did amazingly well last season, look to have stepped their game and it’s a really good. I am excited for the prospects of this season,” he concluded.

AmaZulu will participate in the CAF Champions League for the very first time in their history. Before their African adventure begins, they will have domestic duties.

They host Cape Town City in their MTN 8 quarterfinal fixture in two weeks. After this they will face league champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening DSTV Premiership fixture.
