Bhongolethu Jayiya Said to Be Forgetting About Football! The winger hasn’t played professionally for many years now.
Bhongolethu Jayiya was last seen playing for Kaizer Chiefs in 2019. Reports suggest that he is content with stepping away from football at this stage.
Jayiya only turns 33 years old this March, but has been without a club in 4 years, last playing in the PSL at 29 years old. He joined Kaizer Chiefs as a great prospect, previously thriving for Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City.
The winger is an example of how quickly footballers can be forgotten in the PSL. At his age, he probably has another three years at the highest level, and that’s if he is fit.
“Bhongolethu is okay, he is good,” an insider close to the player revealed to Phakaaathi.
“He doesn’t have any regrets about his football career. He played the game to his utmost best and he did everything that he ever wanted to do.
“He might have done more, but things didn’t go so well. What is important is that he is okay, and he is focusing on doing well for himself, his future and family,”
“If I would point out one thing it is that that move to Chiefs didn’t do him well. He was a star at Cape Town City and when he arrived at Chiefs, they didn’t play him.
“But, that’s football and its politics, I will leave it at that.
“He doesn’t like to be on the spotlight, and he is someone who is very reserved and wants to make something out of his life outside football.” The source revealed.
