Brandon Petersen Expects Exciting Game Against Stellenbosch FC! Amakhosi take on Stellies this coming weekend.
Kaizer Chiefs host Stellenbosch FC in the DSTV Premiership on Saturday afternoon. Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is looking forward to a lively encounter at the FNB Stadium.
The last time these two sides met striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana made a bit of history by scoring a hattrick of penalties. Coming into the encounter, Amakhosi are on a good run of form.
They have won their last four matches in all competitions, with three of these coming in the DSTV Premiership and one in the Nedbank Cup.
“I played against them in the NFD when I was at Ajax [Cape Town] and there are a few guys still there like Lee Langeveldt. They’ve got a good squad.” Petersen relayed to the club media.
“Most of their players have been doing very well. For us it’s important to go into this game and just be us, because we have also been on a good run.
“It’s going to be an exciting game and I know, at the end of the day, if we put in the graft, the fight, we’ll come out with a positive result.” He spoke
The goalkeeper has stressed that at this stage of the season, claiming as many points as possible is the most important. Even though clean sheets are his bread and butter, winning matches is pivotal at this stage.
“Us, as ‘keepers, pride ourselves on clean sheets but at the end of the day, when it comes to the second round of the season, what matters the most are the three points and I think we have done that.
“Got the three points after heavy grafting, grinding out the result, and it’s always good to go away from home and put up the fight, determination and hunger to come out with the three points. This week we are back at home, so we are ready and looking forward to playing in front of our fans.”
