Brandon Truter Admits That Replacing Benni McCarthy Will Be Difficult! The newly appointed head coach will take to the side-lines this weekend.
Last week Sandile Zungu and AmaZulu terminated the contract of Benni McCarthy. They hired former Swallows FC Brandon Truter to replace the coach.
Truter himself was fired by the Dube Birds at the beginning of the campaign after a string of poor results. At Usuthu, he has only been given an interim post.
His mandate will be to secure a top 8 finish this season, and to see AmaZulu go as far as they can in the CAF Champions League. He will fight hard to try to win a permanent position at the KZN outfit.
He has seven matches in the DSTV Premiership to try to impress the Usuthu board.
“Yeah, we had our team meeting this morning. I walked and greeted the players.” Truter told the AmaZulu media.
“Some of them I have a relationship with. Some of them I have come a long way with, so the interaction was great.
“Much more welcoming than I expected. Because if I am being honest, I have replaced a very good coach in Benni McCarthy. I mean he made history with AmaZulu last season, so I am coming in with big boots to fill.
“I am coming in on the back of a coach who was once the darling of South African football. I mean, the supporters love him, all I can ask for from the supporters is the same support that they gave him.
“In return, I will give them my best. 100% and more.
“I promise to try to bring some winning football, quality football, attack minded football and a brand of football that the supporters will be proud of.” He concluded.
