Brandon Truter Happy to Reach Semi-Finals of Nedbank Cup! Babina Noko got the better of The Chilli Boys over the weekend.

Sekhukhune United beat Chippa United 2-1 in their Nedbank Cup quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon. Head coach Brandon Truter was happy to have made two pieces of history.

With the win, Babina Noko will make their first ever semi-final appearance in the Nedbank Cup. This was also their first ever win over The Chilli Boys.

Elias Mokwana gave the visitors the lead, before striker Etiosa Ighodaro equalised for the hosts. Nigerian Chibuike Ohizo scored the winning goal just before halftime, for Sekhukhune United.

“It was a great victory for the club, and it is our first victory over Chippa,” Truter spoke, after the victory.

“It could not have come at a better time because we are in the semis, and everyone is happy. All the credit goes to the technical team and the players,”

“We always knew how dangerous they are from set-plays but that (Chippa’s goal) was down to miscommunication between the defender and the goalkeeper so that is something we need to work on.

“I am happy that we got more composed after their goal and we scored before half time, which is the best time to score.”
