CHAN 2020 Tournament Postponed

The 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament has been moved from January to April following an Executive Committee meeting held in Cairo Egypt on Thursday.

The tournament which is exclusively a preserve for local based players was supposed to take place in January next year in Cameroon, but the dates have been pushed back until April.

“During the CAF Executive Committee (ExCo) meeting of 2019 in Cairo, Egypt, chaired by Ahmad Ahmad it was decided that the CHAN will now be staged from April 4-25 in Cameroon,” CAF confirmed in a statement.

Among the biggest casualties to miss out on a place in Cameroon include Nigeria, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa and Ghana.

Qualified teams for Cameroon 2020:

Cameroon (hosts), Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Namibia, Togo (debut), Morocco, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Congo, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger, Mali.
