Chippa United Coach Luc Eymael Reflects on First Betway Premiership Win

Chippa United secured their first win of the Betway Premiership season with a 2-1 victory over Orbit College FC on Tuesday. Goals from Xolani Sithole and Justice Figuareido ensured the Chilli Boys picked up their first maximum points.

Coach Luc Eymael praised his players for their focus and mentality in training and during the match. He noted that several players were managing minor injuries or were not at full fitness, yet they delivered a determined performance. Eymael highlighted the importance of teamwork, saying the players supported one another and fought collectively to secure the win.

Eymael also acknowledged his technical staff, including goalkeeper coach Selaotse “Sly” Mosala, who has experience working with him at Polokwane City and Free State Stars. He credited the staff for contributing to the team’s defensive improvements and overall performance.

Looking ahead, Eymael emphasized caution and preparation. Chippa face two challenging away fixtures against Polokwane City and log leaders Sekhukhune United. He said the focus will remain on recovery and training before traveling, taking the campaign one game at a time.

The Belgian coach stressed simplicity and playing to the team’s strengths as key to future success. He told his players to give their all on the pitch, reinforcing a mentality of resilience and commitment for the season ahead.
