CONFIRMED: Evidence Makgopa And Miguel Timm To Be Announced As Pirates Signings
Orlando Pirates are believed to have completed the signing of Evidence Makgopa and Miguel Timm from Baroka FC and Marumo Gallants respectively. It is reportedly a matter of time before the players are announced.
As for Makgopa, the Baroka owner Khurishi Mphahlele confirmed to Kickoff.com that they’re retaining all players except for the 22-year-old. “We are preparing now [for next season] and everybody is here except Makgopa,” Mphahlele told KickOff.
“With regards to Makgopa, I can confirm that he is leaving. He is going to Pirates, I’m letting him go with my whole heart, I’m giving him my blessing, as he did well for us. I wish that he succeeds at Pirates, I just wish he has the same sort of success as Goodman Mosele,” he added.

Makgopa has been a utility player for Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele and as much as it is a good move for him, it’s a terrific loss for the club. The striker played 71 games and scored 15 goals across all competitions for the Limpopo-based club.
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has also been utilizing him since he took charge of the South African National Team. He has played eight games and found the back of the net three times for the country.
Meanwhile, an insider from the Buccaneers has confirmed that Miguel Timm will be joining the club as the deal has been completed. Initially, Timm was rumoured to have signed a pre-contract with Sekhukhune United in January as his deal with Marumo Gallants would be running out at the end of June, however, there’s been a twist.
It is clear that Ezimnyama Ngenkani secured the services of the Durban-born midfielder on a free transfer. His recent fine performances at Gallants wouldn’t keep him there for a long time with big guns’ eyes caught.
“It’s a done deal,” a club official confirmed to KickOff. “We will make an announcement soon to confirm the new players signed and those who are leaving.”
The Soweto-based club has already signed Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki from Golden Arrows and AmaZulu respectively. Sibisi, who was the captain of Golden Arrows left the club that he joined in 2015 from their Multichoice Diski Challenge team and later became a steady wall at the back. He ended up earning Bafana Bafana call-ups under the leadership of Hugo Broos.

The 26-year-old was a regular in the team and will surely make the competition stiff in his new club. This past season, he played 24 games and scored three goals across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Xoki was also a captain at AmaZulu and left the club after spending almost eight years with them as he signed in 2014 from the Old Mutual Academy.
Playing 38 games in all competitions in the recently ended season should be enough evidence that he was featuring almost constantly for the KwaZulu-Natal-based side. Xoki’s move to Bucs involved Gabadinho Mhango who went in the opposite direction.
