Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to write a touching tribute to the loss of a close friend. He stresses that these are the moments in which football takes a backseat and life at large is more important.
“There are times when everything takes a back seat, including football.” Ronaldo said.
“Last week, unexpectedly, a fantastic human being left, our dear Soraia, a wonderful mother and wife of one of the best friends that life has given me.
“Nothing can erase the pain of my brother José Semedo and the whole family, but we are together, today as always, in time to face this very difficult time. Rest in peace, my friend.
“We will never forget you.” He spoke.
This followed the disappointing result from the weekend. Manchester United drew 1-1 at home to Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
These were more dropped points at home after losing 1-0 to Aston Villa last weekend. As a result, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been under fire.
