Daine Klate Has Reportedly Been Sacked by Chippa United! The Chilli Boys are rock bottom of the league table after another loss.

Chippa United are reported to have fired head coach Daine Klate just seven matches into the new season. This follows a 1-0 loss at home to Mamelodi Sundowns last night.

Klate was brought into the first team after impressing with the Chippa United DSTV Diski Challenge squad. He replaced Kurt Lentjies who was placed on suspension just before the previous season ended.

It is reported that Lentjies could return to the club, in a sensational move.

“According to iDiski Times sources, Klate was sacked on Thursday morning, with Morgan Mammila, who only returned to the club earlier in the week and was Klate’s assistant during their clash with Mamelodi Sundowns, set to take over as interim coach,” Duke Madlala of iDiski Times reported.

“According to SABC Sport sources in Qqeberha, the return of Morgan Mammila to the Chilli Boys this week has already led to a shake-up, first with the former CEO being appointed assistant coach and sitting in the dugout during the Sundowns game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

It is understood Mammila and Siyabulela Gwambi took charge of this morning’s session ahead of the trip to AmaZulu on Saturday.

SABC Sport has established that Klate will meet with chairman Siviwe Mpengesi later today to discuss his future but there are already suggestions the boss will propose changes to the technical team.

Last night, former coach Kurt Lentjies was spotted at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and indications are that he could be brought back in as the head coach, after being replaced by Klate at the start of the season.

Lentjies helped Chippa avoid relegation, but Mpengesi opted for a new face in the dugout and told Metro FM several months ago that the ex-midfielder still had a valid contract as a player even though he’d announced his retirement.” Mazola Molefe of the SABC also reported.
