Danny Jordaan Pays Tribute to The Late Alex Shakoane! The association has also offered their condolences to the bereaved family.

Alex Shakoane passed away on Sunday after he had suffered an alleged stroke. Danny Jordaan has remembered the life of the former Mamelodi Sundowns Communications’ Manager.

Goldfingers has been instrumental in the history of Masandawana, since their formation in the 1970’s. He served the club for over thirty years.

“Alex had become the face of Mamelodi Sundowns from the days of Zola Mahobe, the Krok brothers, Tsichlas family to the current Motsepe leadership.” Jordaan told the SAFA media.

“He was colourful, well-spoken and a very likable character. A huge void in South African football has been created by his sudden death.

‘’He was an iconic figure, loved by football fans and we are deeply saddened by the passing away of this bubbly giant.” He added.

Jordaan has rallied behind the club to win this season’s CAF Champions League, in honour of Shakoane. The Brazilians take on Wydad Casablanca in the semi-final first leg this weekend.

‘’They must go all the way and do it for Alex (Shakoane). He would have loved to see Sundowns lift the African title once again and I am hopeful they will do it for him.’’ He added.
