Thembinkosi Lorch gave The Buccaneers the lead in the second half, before Tebogo Makungo equalized for Chaba Refete two minutes later. Eventually, Pirates won on penalties with Whitehead Nameka missing the only spot kick, for Dondol.

“I think it would be very unfair if we were heartbroken. Like I said in the pre-match interview, that we have done well for ourselves.” The co-coach told SuperSport TV.

“Just by being here it’s a huge and a great achievement. I’m happy because myself and Vinny [co-coach], we asked the boys to go out there and give a good game to Orlando Pirates and that’s why the smile.

“We were not really happy with the goal [conceded], but its ok we’ll take it, we don’t focus on that. We are named giant slayers or the comeback kings, for a reason.

“So, I think when we conceded that goal I got up and motivated them. I said, ‘boys, we need to get up we need to push, because that’s what we do.’

“I don’t want to dwell on that [Orlando Pirates goal]. Myself and Vinny we’re young coaches, we don’t want to focus on refereeing and all that.

“But yes, it is what it is, we’ll take it.

“I think we’ve had a fair and a good run, in the tournament. Now we have to switch our focus to the league [ABC Motsepe League], because we need to get promoted.

“If we get promoted, my life, Vinny, the players and everyone involved with the team, our lives will change. So, we’ve done well.

“The journey ends here, but we were here to participate, not to be part of the teams that were here.” He added.
