Dumisani Zuma Pens Farewell Message For Amakhosi

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Dumisani Zuma has written an emotional farewell message for the club after he left them last week. Zuma was one of the nine players who were released by Amakhosi as they are in the midst of a squad overhaul.

Chiefs let go of Zuma before the end of his contract due to “numerous disciplinary issues” as described by the club’s statement.

Zuma took to social media accounts to give gratitude to his former club that he joined in 2017 from Bloemfontein Celtic and spent a long stay of five years with them.

“I would like to extend my warmest gratitude for the love and unwavering support I have received over the years since joining Kaizer Chiefs,” he wrote.

“To the KCFC management, technical team, players and the fans at large, thank you for awarding me the opportunity to play for such a prestigious club.

“You have installed in me the confidence to showcase my talents in front of millions of South Africans who love our beautiful game.

“The experience I have gained and all the lessons I’ve learnt are thanks to your criticism which has undoubtedly contributed immensely to my growth.

“I look forward to my next journey, as I take the learnings from the past five years into the future with me.

“Amakhosi for Life”

AmaZulu didn’t think twice in luring the Pietermaritzburg-born star back to his home province KwaZulu-Natal as they offered him a four-year contract and he signed.

Usuthu have also added Thendo Mukumela, Veluyeke Zulu, Riaan Hanamub, Dumisani Zuma, Augustine Kwem, Gabadinho Mhango to their squad after they released 15 players last week.

Now, bearing in mind that Zuma is beheld as a “naughty boy”, his agent Basia Machaels believes he will rise again considering the support from the club’s president Sandile Zungu.

“Yes, we have signed with AmaZulu and the president was one of the very first people to give me a call once Chiefs had released a statement in the manner in which they did. We had a good number of conversations and within a short space of time we had signed,” Michaels told SABC Sport.

“Dumisani would love to go back to his home province and play there. He is looking forward to a new challenge – one that doesn’t have too much difficulty and him being weighed down as painfully as his past journey has. With the support that has been offered by president Zungu, I think we will be able to see the rise of the player again.”
