England Defeat Ukraine in UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers! The Three Lions added another victory on their journey.

England defeated Ukraine 2-0 in their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier on Sunday night. They have now amassed six points from their first two matches.

The English have enjoyed a great start to their qualifying campaign, after opening their journey with an away victory over reigning European champions Italy.

Harry Kane gave the home side the lead, adding to his tally of international goals. Bukayo Saka scored a stunner to seal the victory for England.

“I’m really pleased with the performance.” Head coach Gareth Southgate told Channel 4, as per UEFA. 

“I thought in Italy we played well with the ball in the first half then in the second we conceded possession too cheaply. Today we made a difficult game look straightforward.

“You’ve got to be right with your pressure and I thought our midfield players in particular were excellent with that.

“The way in was either through Maddison, Saka or Chilwell round the side and I thought we stuck to the task really well. James and Ben have obviously played together at Leicester and that was helpful.

“We wanted James to drift in and he found those spaces really well. I thought he had a super game, and it didn’t surprise me.

“Saka and Bellingham have the humility and they want to learn; they work unbelievably hard for the team and they’re totally reliable.

“They’re a joy to work with really. You know when Saka cuts in that what he did (at his goal) is possible. It was a top-level finish.” He spoke.
