Eric Matoho Makes It 150 Games At Chiefs
Eric Matoho made his 150th official appearance for Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday night Nedbank cup clash against Stellenbosch FC . The South Africa international joined Kaizer Chiefs from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012. Tower, as he’s affectionately known, formed a solid partnership with Tefu Mashamaite when Chiefs last won the league title under former coach Stuart Baxter in the 2014/15 season. Mashamaite even honored him with one of his awards when Mashamaite won PSL Player of the season for 2014/15 season.
Matoho still has a lot of gas in the tank and he has matured to score goals and not just defend only for Amakhosi. Part of his strength is rescuing Chiefs when it matters with beautiful headers. He recently just signed a new contract with Chiefs after Sundowns offered him a big money deal but Matoho stayed at Chiefs.
The 27 year old defender will stay in Naturena for the next two years and hopefully he will attract some overseas scouts and can go and flourish and tap into new challenges outside of South Africa. Tower is a very disciplined defender and he has represented his club and Bafana Bafana very well and continues to be regular in both colors. We wish him more games in football and that he continues to work hard even more.
