Sekhukhune United have become the 6th club to sack their head coach in the DSTV Premiership this season. Kaitano Tembo has been fired by the club.

Babina Noko find themselves in the relegation positions, sitting one place ahead of bottom dwellers Maritzburg United. This is despite somewhat of a strong start they enjoyed this season.

“I wish to thank Coach Kaitano for his dedication and hard work whilst at the Club,” club CEO Jonas Malatji spoke.

“Ever the professional that he is, and with his impeccable work ethic, the decision to part ways was an extremely difficult one. Sport in general and football in particular is result driven, and this remains true for the club that find itself in a very precarious position in the DSTV Premiership.” The CEO added.

Kaitano Tembo himself was not bitter despite his sacking, almost midway into the season.

“I wish to thank the players for their dedication, the support of the technical team and support staff, and wish the club and it’s supporters the very best.” Tembo also spoke.

The PSL has entered a 60-day break because of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. This will give Babina Noko plentiful time to find a new head coach.

Or they can reinstate Macdonald Makhubedu to the position. Sekhukhune United Fire Head Coach Kaitano Tembo!
