Ever dreamt of Kaizer Chiefs fans supporting their arch enemies and bitter rivals Orlando Pirates. That surely sounds like fantasy football but might be a reality tonight when the Buccaneers take on Kaizer Chiefs title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in a huge fixture that will definitely have a bearing on the Absa PSL title race at Orlando stadium.

Pirates’ entertain second-placed defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night. Kick off at 7.30pm.

It is not Orlando Pirates’ job to do Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs any favours in the league title race but that certainly might be the case tonight though by default rather than by design as the two Soweto giants have both endured a trophy drought of sorts stretching to 5 years.

Literally speaking, Pirates have nothing to play except pride as they are all but out of the title race 17 points behind Chiefs, but they could still have an effect on the title race.

Amakhosi‚ who are currently nine points clear at the summit‚ appear to have their destiny in their own hands and are huge favourites at the moment to clinch the trophy in their historic 50th birthday year.
