FC Barcelona Board Jubilant as Messi Is Forced to Stay
FC Barcelona Board Jubilant as Messi Is Forced to Stay. Lionel Messi’s attempt to flee from Barcelona was always a very hard thing to do. The implications were too vast and too complex to successfully achieve in such a complicated transfer window. Covid 19 has hampered with football so much that the current transfer window is short and difficult.
This has meant that Lionel Messi has ultimately surrendered his plea to leave his boyhood club. And of course, this left the FC Barcelona board jubilant as Messi is forced to stay.
The release clause itself that allowed Messi to leave on a free transfer a year before his contract expires was damaged by the corona virus disease.
Reluctantly, Lionel Messi has been left with no choice but to stay with the Blaugrana.
“I will give it my all. My love for Barca will never change” the Argentine spoke after revealing that he plans on fulfilling his contract. Messi has one more year left on his contract and is likely to depart the club at the end of next season.
Although Messi will be 34, and closer to retirement, he’ll sstill be sought after by the biggest teams in world football.
We’re all eager to see Messi represent his boyhood club once more this season and can rest assured that he’ll provide more outstanding performances.
The La Liga season kicks off this September.
