Football Fans React to The Latest Bafana Bafana 25-Man Squad! Molefi Ntseki announced the 25-man squad to play Sao Tome in back-to-back AFCON 2022 qualifiers. The squad saw veterans like Itumeleng Khune, and Dean Furman included in the squad.
Football fans could not believe it when Itumeleng Khune, Dean Furman and Thulani Serero were all included in Bafana Bafana’s latest squad.
The South Africans played out to a disappointing draw and defeat to Namibia and Zambia respectively in the last round of international fixtures.
The match against Zambia also made headlines because the Bafana Bafana bench had members kitted in Nike apparel, despite signing a contract with new technical sponsor Le Coq Sportif.
Bafana Bafana play against extremely lowly Sao Tome in back-to-back AFCON 2022 Qualifiers. The tournament is set to be hosted in Cameroon.
“’The back-to-back Sao Tome games are crucial in our quest to qualify for Cameroon AFCON tournament and I am confident that this blend of youth and experience will do the job,” said Molefi Ntseki.
He was also criticised for including Lebogang Manyama in the national squad.
Thulani Serero’s hype has long been winded down as he now represents Al Jazira in Saudi Arabia. Dean Furman represents Carlisle United in the 4th division of English football.
Itumeleng Khune is back in the squad after a long layoff. He has since returned to the Kaizer Chiefs starting XI, where he has battled to regain any form since coming back.
Lebogang Manyama had a stellar 2019/2020 season, as he helped Kaizer Chiefs finish second in the league.
