Gabuza Aiming For Team Glory Rather Than Personal Glory
Orlando Pirates strikers Thamsanqa Gabuza and Kermit Erasmus stand the chance of scooping the CAF Confederation Cup top goalscorer award. The two Pirates strikers have five goals respectively, they have two more matches to make sure that they take the top goal scorer award, Pirates will play a two legged CAF confederations cup final against the Etoile du Sahel from Tunisia.
The on form Orlando Pirates striker told Soccer Laduma that he is not concerned about personal glory but wants the team to win the Caf confedaration cup.
“I would rather win the cup with my teammates than celebrate the Golden Boot by myself,” said the Pirates striker.
“You know the goals I have scored are from my teammates’ passes and that’s more important than an individual award.
“I don’t even count the goals that I score because I only remember the games we won as a team. So even if I don’t score in the finals but we win the trophy then I will be happy,” concluded Gabuza.
