Group F 2022 FIFA World Cup Review: Morocco Top Their Group! The African giants have managed to create some history.

Morocco defeated Canada 2-1 to top their group in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This means that they have topped their group for the second time in their history.

Canada 1:2 Morocco – Group F

Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech gave Morocco an early lead after he pounced on an error from the Canadian goalkeeper Milan Borjan. Spain based striker Youssef En Nesyri doubled their lead in the first half.

The Canucks pulled a goal back through a Nayef Aguerd effort which deflected its way into the Moroccan net. Morocco was able to hold onto their lead and ultimately win the match.

They will now play Spain in the last 16 of the competition.

Canada on the other hand will leave the tournament after losing their three group matches. Star players Alphonso Davies scored their first ever FIFA World Cup goal in the 4-1 loss to Croatia last time around, which ultimately sealed their defeat.

Morocco have become the first African side to top a FIFA World Cup group since Nigeria managed this in the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
