Here’s Why Messi Won’t Play Against Nigeria In Upcoming Friendly Match
Here’s Why Messi Won’t Play Against Nigeria In Upcoming Friendly Match! The Argentina national will miss a friendly match between his home country and Nigeria on Tuesday.
Messi withdrew from the team to return to his club Barcelona. This comes after he helped his national team’s 1-0 win over Russia on Saturday. Jorge Sampaoli also reportedly wants to rest him.
“I have the desire to play against Nigeria but coach Jorge Sampaoli decided to regulate my game a little and I won’t play in the game against Nigeria,” he told Sport.
Messi went on to call his national teammates to continue working hard ahead of next year’s World Cup. “It’s complicated, we always said that. The reality is that there is not much time and that’s why we have to make the most of it when we’re together.”
