It is not permanent – Nurković

At the beginning it was slightly difficult,” admits Samir Nurković, “I had to get used to training from home. I was concerned about my family and how the coronavirus will affect us all.”

The Serbian born striker arrived in South Africa in July 2019 and due to his prowess in front of goal, has already won the hearts and minds of the South African football loving community.

Speaking from his home  where he’s on a lockdown as a measure of avoiding the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic,  he says: “Now I’m doing well!. I have used this time to gain more mental strength. It is very important and I’m going to need this strength when we return to the field.”

There is no place like home for the Serbian. “I dedicate time to follow developments back home,” he reveals. “So far I am satisfied to learn that my family is safe and healthy. I wish them all of the best every day.

“As much as this lockdown may seem as a setback, I know it’s not permanent. After this we will return much stronger.”

It is amazing how in his first year in South Africa and first season with Amakhosi, the lethal goal poacher has fitted in like a hand in glove in the entire setup. “I hope everyone is keeping well and safe indoors,” concludes Nurković, “I just want to urge everyone to be patient with this lockdown. The more we follow the regulations, the sooner the lockdown will be lifted. Remember, it is the right thing to do because our health is a priority. I look forward to seeing you from the pitch side.”
