It’s Good to Be Back! – Kermit Erasmus. The diminutive striker has recently just re-joined The Buccaneers.
Kermit Erasmus has joined Orlando Pirates from Mamelodi Sundowns on a two-year deal. He revealed his happiness at going to the Soweto Giants.
Romeo scored the most goals for Orlando Pirates in his career. This is a place which allowed him to join Stade Rennais in France.
“Orlando Pirates is happy to announce the signing of Kermit Erasmus on a two-year deal,” the club said.
“Romeo, as he is affectionately known, returns to the club having left to join French outfit Stade Rennais back in 2016.
“The experienced forward joins the Buccaneers having recently been cleared by his former employer and becomes the sixth senior signing of the season.”
Erasmus joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2020 from Cape Town City. He won two DSTV Premiership titles with the Brazilians.
However, his game time rapidly decreased last season, leading to the early termination of his contract.
“Mamelodi Sundowns has parted ways with Kermit Romeo Erasmus who joined the Brazilians back in October 2020.
“The enterprising striker’s contract was due to end in May and both parties have agreed on early termination to allow Kermit to get more game time elsewhere.
“In the two years that Kermit has been with Mamelodi Sundowns, the talented player has displayed professionalism and was always on hand to share his knowledge- and-experience with his teammates.
“Everyone at Mamelodi Sundowns would like to wish Romeo the best of luck with his future endeavours on and off the pitch.” The club said in a statement.
Buccaneers’ fans are thrilled to have Romeo back in Orlando. It’s Good to Be Back! – Kermit Erasmus
