John Maduka Laments Missed Chances Against SuperSport United! The Team of Choice lost to Matsatsantsa in their last league match.

Maritzburg United lost 2-1 at home to SuperSport United on Friday night. Head coach John Maduka bemoaned the missed chances he witnessed from the side lines.

The visitors took the lead through defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe who scored from a corner. Lucky Baloyi restored parity for The Team of Choice less than a minute later.

However, veteran Onismor Bhasera scored the winner for the visitors in the 73^rd minute.

“I think we started the game very well. We tried not to pass around, creating chances,” Maduka told SuperSport TV after the loss.

“I think we had a couple of chances; I think 1v1, I think Soukouna could have scored. We had another one, I think Njoti could have scored.

“It’s one of those things where you see that if you don’t take your chances, a team like SuperSport waits for that moment, they go wide, they put the ball in the box and they get their goal. Apart from that, I think the boys did well, the boys did well.

“It’s only that we lost concentration in those dying minutes. And we said it that we have to stop them from crossing the ball because it’s a team that plays direct.

“They go wide, and they pay the ball in their box. We allowed them to cross the ball, and we didn’t pick them up in the box.

“The boys did try their best. For us to create chances, in some other games we haven’t been creating chances.

“You can see that something is coming right.” He concluded.
