Jose Riveiro Credits Orlando Pirates After Claiming Win Last Night! The Buccaneers accrued only their second league win yesterday.

Orlando Pirates defeated Royal AM 1-0 in the DSTV Premiership last night. Head coach Jose Riveiro was happy with his players and coaching staff after the victory.

Going into the match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the Soweto Giants were coming from a disappointing draw and loss in their previous matches. In fact, the hosts were the favourites heading into the encounter.

Many had predicted Thwihli Thwahla to come away with something from the match. Especially as they were also coming from a defeat to the hands of Stellenbosch FC.

“Very good 60 minutes from us, plenty of positive things, very professional performance here tonight,” Jose Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the win.

“I liked our defensive work today, it was incredible. Not happy with the way we did when we recovered the ball.

“We should have spent more time keeping possession in the second half and not suffer so much.

“But even though we were defending a bit lower than what we want I don’t remember any single clear chance of a very good team like Royal AM.

“So, credit to our team, our coaching staff, the players, everyone because today was beautiful to see the guys fighting this way”

James Monyane has done well since being reintroduced into the side by the Spaniard. He provided the assist for Deon Hotto to score the only goal of the game.

“He’s a good example, Iike everybody else working very hard. We have a fantastic competition inside the squad.

“We’re very committed to our objectives of the season and today was proof of that,” he continued.

“Yes, you can see the guys who are coming from the bench, if it’s 40 minutes, ten minutes they put in everything they have, that’s the way the team can achieve good things in the future,” the newly appointed coach concluded.

The Ghost moved to fourth on the table, having played a game more than their rivals. Jose Riveiro Credits Orlando Pirates After Claiming Win Last Night!
