Kaitano Tembo Disappointed Not To Get a Penalty! SuperSport United lost 1-0 to AmaZulu at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium yesterday. The loss came courtesy of a first half Siphelele Mthembu goal.

Both coaches (Benni McCarthy included) admitted that there was a probable penalty shout toward the end of the match. Tembo insists that decisions didn’t go his team’s way in the game.

“Look, beside that mistake that we made that resulted in their goal I thought we were the better team throughout the game. Though a lot of decisions didn’t go our way.” Tembo told the media.

“But I thought we played very well you know. We dominated possession and got into good areas.

“We couldn’t just put the ball in the back of the net. And we were denied also a penalty at the death there. But I can’t fault the guys, I thought the guys played very well.” He added.

Kaitano Tembo would’ve hope for a better second half showing than the first. Especially as they were trailing in the game.

“For me it was the same performance which I saw in the first half. Especially after they had scored.

“I think we upped the ante as well, upped the tempo especially on the ball. And we carried that again into the second half.

“Though the final third, that’s where we need to try to work a little bit more. Because we didn’t really create good scoring opportunities other than the penalty and the one in which I thought Bradley could’ve taken first time with his left foot.

“But in terms of our performance I thought we played very well.” Tembo laments.

Matsatsantsa have a short turnaround time to prepare for their next match. They host TS Galaxy on Friday in the DSTV Premiership.

“Another tough game. We just need to recover now and give players a little bit of a break.

“Because we’re only going back tomorrow and Thursday we do recovery  just to check whoever is available and then we play on Friday.” The SuperSport United coach concluded.
