Kaizer Chiefs Could Look at Prospect of Replacing Arthur Zwane! Mangethe has endured a difficult first season at the club.

Rumours suggest that Arthur Zwane’s job as Kaizer Chiefs head coach could be in jeopardy. This is after suffering a jarring defeat to SuperSport United over the past weekend.

The loss was the 11^th defeat in the DSTV Premiership for Amakhosi this season. This is the highest number of losses they have ever suffered in a single campaign in the PSL era.

It also meant that Amakhosi will not finish higher than fourth place this season, losing out on a CAF position.

“SABC Sport now understands the backing Zwane enjoyed from management when he initially took over is shaky, with high-ranking sources indicating the club will actively look for a replacement,” SABC Sport reported. 

“It’s believed the decision is not official and could have been triggered by, yet another defeat a week after being eliminated from the Nedbank Cup at the hands of bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals.” The publication reads.

Arthur Zwane took over on a fulltime basis this season, taking over from Stuart Baxter.

“When we started the season, we knew it was not going to be smooth,” Bobby Motaung told members of the media last week.

“We had youngsters, we had a young coach with young technical staff, and everything has been fresh.

“Next season, we are definitely going to beef up and look at where the challenges were, and work on it. Football is a journey, it’s not a one-night thing or a one-day thing.

“We are in that journey.”
