Kaizer Chiefs Miss Key Chances In Stalemate With TS Galaxy

Kaizer Chiefs dropped more points after a goalless draw with TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon. The team missed a chance to move into the top three before the year ends. It was their second straight match without a goal, which hurt their push for a stronger league position.

Interim co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef said the team showed strong effort. He believed the performance deserved a better result. He said the team scored what he viewed as a clear goal, but it did not stand. He also questioned a penalty call that did not go their way. Chiefs created more than 36 attempts at goal but failed to finish.

Youssef said the upcoming break will help the team fix its mistakes. He praised the squad for its work rate. He said he felt proud of both starters and substitutes.

Luke Baartman made his long-awaited debut after his transfer from Cape Town Spurs. Youssef said he deserved his chance, the same as every player in the squad. He avoided singling him out and stressed that all players earn their place.

Chiefs continue to deal with injuries in the forward line. Youssef said their striker is close to returning. He confirmed that Ighodaro will be available for the next match. Mayo also delivered a strong display and is back in rhythm. He said the team will perform better once all forwards return.

Chiefs will use the break to focus on finishing and decision making in the final third. The technical team remains confident the squad can produce stronger results when the league resumes.
