Kaizer Chiefs look forward to a very successful 2022 on the football pitch. The club faced one of the darkest periods in their illustrious 51-year history last year.

Amakhosi fired high profile coach Gavin Hunt before the season ended. This was due to extremely poor performances and results in the DSTV Premiership, despite their continental progression.

Hunt guided the club to their very first CAF Champions League group stage participation. He ultimately reached the semi-final with the club before he was sacked.

Assistant coach Arthur Zwane took the reins and guided the team to the final of the competition, with the help of Dillion Shepherd.

In the midst of all this, they had to fend off their own supporters. The Kaizer Chiefs faithful famously protested the club the hold dear to their hearts after performances continued to suffer under Gavin Hunt.

“As we always say, our Supporters have always been our pillar of strength.” The club said in a statement.

“Your absence has been felt in all areas of the Club. We miss the sights and sounds of thousands of you singing in the stadiums, the visits to the Village, the gathering of hundreds of vehicles at our headquarters ahead of the Soweto Derby to name a few.

“The Kaizer Chiefs family, comprised of young, old, male, female, LGBTQ+, all races and creeds are a shining example to the world of unity in diversity through a shared love of football and Amakhosi.

“We hope it won’t be too long before greater numbers are allowed to attend matches again. We are excitedly looking forward to travelling to Polokwane, Durban, Cape Town, Nelspruit, knowing the stadium will be painted Gold & Black.

“For now, we maintain engagement with our loyal fanbase on social media via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and our website.” The club media added.

This season, under the management of Stuart Baxter, the club have shown much improvement at this stage of the season. Kaizer Chiefs Promise Their Fans a Much Better 2022 On the Football Pitch!
