Khanyisa Mayo’s Future at CR Belouizdad Remains Uncertain Amid Contract Talks

South African striker Khanyisa Mayo faces an uncertain future at Algerian side CR Belouizdad, with reports suggesting the club may seek to terminate his contract. However, no official agreement has been reached, Soccer Laduma understands.
Sources indicate CR Belouizdad has signed more foreign players than allowed, forcing the club to free up registration slots. Mayo, who joined the club on a three-year deal last season, could be the player to make way, possibly through a loan move within Algeria.
“They have signed more foreign players than they can register,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
Mayo, 26, featured in 41 matches across all competitions last season, scoring six goals. He returned to Algeria for pre-season training in July but now faces the possibility of an early exit after just one year with the club.
Despite transfer rumours linking Mayo to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs, his agent Basia Michaels confirmed the striker remains under contract and is willing to continue at CR Belouizdad.
“Khanyisa has a contract at CRB. He’s got two years left and he’s happy to stay there. He wants to continue that journey. I’ve received no offers for Khanyisa because he had just signed a deal a year ago,” Michaels told Soccer Laduma.
The coming days are crucial as the club decides whether Mayo will stay or move on. His next destination remains unclear but could shape his career trajectory going forward.
