Orlando Pirates Prepares For The 2021-2022 Season With Contract Talks! The 1^st of July marked the beginning of the new campaign in the PSL.

Orlando Pirates begins their ventures for the new campaign with administrative duties. The Buccaneers are in the middle of evaluating their entire squad.

Pre-season is underway at the Rand Stadium for Pirates. This means that all their registered players have gathered for the beginning of the new season.

All players which were out on loan have returned to the Ghost’s training camp. Contracts have expired, with the club in the middle of contract renewals for the players they wish to keep at the club.

“We met with the technical team last week and they have requested time to assess all the players, including those returning from loan before they can present their recommendations.” Administrative Officer Floyd Mbele told the club website. 

“With respect to the players whose contracts have come to an end, contract negotiations are still on-going” revealed Mbele.

“We are in advance talks with their respective representatives and will make the necessary announcements in due course.”

Preseason is officially underway for Pirates. Players and staff have undergone all the necessary covid-19 regulations.

“Preseason training starts today however, the players and technical staff returned last week. As a Club it is important that prior to any resumption of training taking place, we need to ensure that the necessary medical tests are done.

“Covid testing has become the norm. All our players and staff members had to undergo testing.

“Obviously, this is not a once off, as we are required as per the leagues’ return to play protocols, to continuously test and take the necessary precautions.” Mbele concluded.
