Leicester close in on Iheanacho.
Leicester are close to finalising a deal for Kelechi Iheanacho after the youngster found opportunities hard to come by under Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
The Nigeria international enjoyed a promising debut in former City manager Manuel Pellegrini’s final season at the helm, bagging 14 goals in all competitions to finish as the club’s third-highest top scorer.
But Iheanacho’s career has taken a step backwards with the arrival of Guardiola, who handed the 20-year-old striker just five Premier League starts last term, although he managed four goals and three assists in 20 outings.
The signing of Gabriel Jesus in January pushed him further down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, and the Foxes have offered the Super Eagles prospect a way out.
Iheanacho is contracted to the Citizens until 2021, but their top-flight rivals are in advanced talks to take him to the King Power Stadium in a £25 million move.
