Mamelodi Sundowns dream of going all the way and winning the Caf champions league was thwarted after being eliminated by the DRC’s AS Vita club on Wednesday evening.

Mamelodi Sundowns won Wednesday’s game 2-1 but were eliminated on the away goals rule after the tie had ended in a 2-2 goal aggregate.

Having focused so much on doing well in Africa, Pitso Mosimane will have to wait for another year in order to give club President Patrice Motsepe his wish of a Caf crown.
