Mathoho Is So obsessed With Fabiani. Have A Look!

The Kaizer Chiefs defender Eric Mathoho has been donning gold and black for about 10 years now since he made that famous move from Bloemfontein Celtic.

But what he wears off the field is totally different from what we usually see him in. He may be wearing all kinds of well-known labels but Fabiani is what he seems to be obsessed with even more. From jerseys to tracksuits, he just looks like a brand’s representative.

Mathoho was born and bred in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. “Tower” as he is widely known spent his early life playing on the streets before he went on to join Tshiombo XI Securitas at a young age. He later moved to Limpopo-based club, Dolphins.

Mathoho had trials at Bloemfontein Celtic in July 2009 and was selected to join the club. He was introduced into the professional game the following year in January making a first-team debut against Mamelodi Sundowns in a match that ended with a 1-1 stalemate. In this very match, he was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Mathoho was once linked with Netherlands’ FC Twente, the former club of his teammate Benard Parker and Israel’s Maccabi Haifa but everything fell flat. He played 56 games and scored five goals for the now-defunct Siwelele before his contract ended in 2012.

With all the big three clubs fighting over his signature, Amakhosi won the race and brought the promising star to Naturena in July 2012. His first taste wearing the famous Gold and Black wasn’t sweet after they lost 4-1 at the hands of Masandawana.

While enjoying his successful career, he has dealt with the painful losses of his important family members. He lost his father in January 2021 just six months after burying his sister and four years after his younger brother passed away.

Mathoho has 34 caps with Bafana Bafana in his name and found the back of the net only once for the national team.
