MC Alger Midfielder Kipré Zunon Praises Rulani Mokwena Ahead of CAF Champions League Opener

MC Alger midfielder Kipré Zunon has emphasized the impact of coach Rulani Mokwena as the Algerian champions prepare for their CAF Champions League group stage opener on Friday.
Mokwena has made a strong start since arriving in Algeria. MC Alger tops the Ligue 1 table, recording seven wins and one draw from their first eight matches. The team now shifts focus to the Champions League, where they face Al Hilal, Mamelodi Sundowns, and debutants Saint-Éloi Lupopo in Group C.
MC Alger qualified for the group stage after defeating Cameroonian side Colombe Sportive in the second preliminary round. Zunon highlighted the importance of following Mokwena’s instructions and learning from his tactical approach.
He said the players will give their best on the pitch, noting the strong support of the club’s fans as a key motivator. Zunon added that hard work and adhering to the coach’s guidance are central to achieving success.
Group C action continues on Saturday with Mokwena’s former club, Mamelodi Sundowns, hosting Lupopo at Loftus Versfeld. MC Alger will aim to maintain their strong start to the season while navigating the challenges of Africa’s premier club competition.
