Meet The New Cheetahs Coach- Franco Smith

The Varsity Cup-winning coach Franco Smith has accepted the position of the head coach position for the Toyota Free-State Cheetahs for the ABSA Currie Cup campaign 2015. After the brilliant job he did during the 2014 ABSA Currie Cup, we look forward to see what he has up his sleeves for this year.

The current coach Naka Drotske, will still continue with his contract until 30 October 2016, until then he will remain the coach for his team and the structure that he has for the Vodacom Super Rugby will remain the same throughout the season. Any other Speculations from the media are false.

Mr Rory Duncan was promoted to the role of the Director of the coaching and will also be in charge of all rugby matters for the franchise from now on.  Smith has been successful with Benneton Treviso in the Italian League and also got to coach Shimlas to the Varsity Cup this year.
