Mike Makaab Explains Delay in Kobamelo Kodisang’s Anticipated Loan Move

Prominent football agent Mike Makaab has shed light on the reasons behind the delay in finalising Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kobamelo Kodisang’s loan move ahead of the second half of the season. Kodisang, 26, began the season on loan at Portuguese side AVS Futebol SAD after falling out of favour under Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso. However, limited game time in Portugal forced him to return to Chloorkop earlier than expected.
Since his return, several Betway Premiership clubs have expressed interest in acquiring Kodisang on loan. A move is believed to be imminent, but Sundowns have yet to announce his departure officially. Speaking to KickOff, Makaab explained that the delay is not due to a lack of interest but rather the need to finalise the terms of the loan agreement. “We are just waiting for the final documentation to be clarified, and then we will look at opportunities within the PSL,” he said.
Makaab added that multiple clubs are interested in Kodisang, but the decision will depend on the loan conditions. “We still need to finalise certain aspects with Sundowns, and once the loan conditions are confirmed, we will decide on the next steps. At the moment, we are busy finalising the terms and conditions of a potential loan, not the paperwork itself, but the agreement details.”
While a move within the PSL appears likely, Stellenbosch FC is reportedly leading the race, a switch abroad cannot be ruled out. Kodisang’s next destination will aim to provide him with regular game time and an opportunity to reignite his career. Sundowns fans and PSL followers will be watching closely as the situation develops, with the finalisation of Kodisang’s loan set to bring clarity to the club’s plans for the remainder of the season.
