Mntambo Celebrates 15 Years Journey With His Wife

Linda Mntambo has been elevating his performances since he arrived at Orlando Pirates in 2018. Mntambo had a much better season with the Buccaneers in the recently ended campaign.

This naturally confident midfielder is married to Thando Mntambo and they share three kids according to Savanna News. On 3 June, Mntambo was celebrating both his birthday and the day he met his wife. Meaning he found love during his birthday and that was back in 2007, making 15 years together now.

He posted a picture of himself with his lady saying, “Sunday, afternoon 03 June 2007 we started our journey, never thought that 15 years later we would be here,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

“I pray with get old together. Happy Anniversary nunu,” he added.

It seems like making his way up in football was never a walk in the park. Mntambo only tasted professional football when he was already 26, whereas most players start at a younger age.

He came to the limelight when he played for Chippa United in 2018. He only featured in 12 games and scored three goals but his performances were enough to attract interest from different clubs. Pirates succeeded in landing him in the same year.

His love for the Buccaneers goes a long way and in 2019 there were rumours that he was going to be sold but Mntambo was clear that he wanted to stay with Ezimnyama Ngenkani.

“I think those were just rumours, but they also got me thinking and I had to speak to the chairman and the coaches to ask what’s happening,” Mntambo told the media.

“They have assured me that there are no such talks and that I will be with the team in the coming season. I am hoping to get as much game time as possible and hope I can add something that benefits the team.

“I signed a three-year contract here, but that doesn’t mean I have to wait another year until I can play. I think this is a make-or-break season for me,” he added.
