Molefi Ntseki Still Has Faith in Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen! This follows his latest blunder over the last weekend.
Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-1 away to Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8 last Saturday. Head coach Molefi Ntseki has come to the defense of his captain and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen in the encounter.
Amakhosi conceded within the first 10 seconds of the match thanks to Peter Shalulile. Goalkeeper Petersen misread the attacking situation of the hosts, which led to the goal.
He made an error against Masandawana in the DSTV Premiership earlier on this season as well, which led to their defeat. Another blunder was against TS Galaxy, a match in which they lost.
Despite these costly errors, head coach Ntseki still has faith in his captain and goalkeeper.
“But the most important thing with Brandon I think he’s a leader.
“He’s a very strong person and I think even with us we are not looking at it to say ‘It was your mistake’, we are saying ‘It was a mistake that happened, we did not respect and observe the difficult phases of the game because we were to start on the front foot.
“If that ball was to be played forward, it was to be starting the game on the front foot but it did not happen and in that situation, we ended up conceding.
“So, it doesn’t mean that we have got so many fingers pointed at each other.” The coach added.
